The Inner Ambulance

Some people experience it as mild unease. Many of my clients describe it as a relentless internal demand: there are people who need them – and immediately the siren sounds. Babu-babu. The inner ambulance launches at once, racing to rescue the sad neighbour, the struggling colleague, the partner having a difficult day, the workplace that needs one more miracle.

The Price of Emergency Response

The people I meet in my practice are brilliant, loving, strong human beings who can carry far more than anyone should ever have to. But they pay a hidden price: they have forgotten to secure their own inner house. While racing out to rescue everyone else, their own foundation erodes quietly beneath them. They return home exhausted to find everything taken – the furniture, the clothes, even the wine cellar stands empty.

Hidden Convictions

These endless emergency runs stem from deep, ancient beliefs: that one must improve the world, that self-sacrifice is what secures acceptance, that love must be earned by exceeding every limit. Beneath these convictions lies something older – a feeling of guilt, of not being enough, of something being fundamentally wrong. This unrecognized pain triggers the siren, again and again.

The Path Home

Stopping the ambulance requires courage. The transformation happens when my clients see themselves reflected truthfully – not in the distorted version they have carried through life, but as their authentic self. The shift occurs in the corridors of consciousness, and it changes everything.

A Life in Dignity

The ambulance still operates, but no longer automatically. Help becomes a conscious choice rather than a compulsive pattern. Only from a grounded foundation can one offer genuine support to others – without seeking to fill an internal void through endless sacrifice.
